Dr Athyr Al-Killidar BDS (Lon) BSc (Lon)
Orthodontist, Director
Athyr graduated from United Medical & Dental Schools of Guy's & St Thomas' in 1996 and has been providing orthodontic treatment since 1999.
He is experienced with traditional types of of orthodontic appliance, but is especially interested in the more 'discrete' options such as Invisalign and lingual orthodontics. He has been awarded the status of Platinum Invisalign Doctor in view of the number of cases treated.
His treatment planning is based on facial profile, and the establishment of a healthy relationship between the teeth, joints and facial muscles.
Technology is an important part of the treatment planning process, with computerised assessment of the face and underlying skeletal structure, and predictions of facial profile following treatment, in addition to smile assessment.
In addition to orthodontic treatment, Dr Al-Killidar diagnoses and treats many patients referred for jaw joint problems, and related disorders including headaches, neck aches, ear symptoms, excess tooth wear, tooth clenching and grinding.
He is involved in research, lectures to various groups, and his professional memberships include the British Dental Association, British Orthodontic Society, ADAPT, and the British Society for the Study of Craniomandibular Disorders.

Mr Nigel Shaun Matthews FDS FRCS(Edin) FRCS(OMFS)

Shaun obtained his undergraduate dental degree from the University of Dundee in 1986 and his undergraduate medical degree from the Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1995.
Having completed his basic surgical training at Kingston Hospital in 1998, he returned to Scotland for his specialist training at the renowned Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow.
During this time, he had the benefit of wide exposure to all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery but cultivated specific interests in the treatment of dento-facial deformity, maxillofacial trauma and temporomandibular joint surgery.
His publications and research interests include work on the use of bioresorbable fixation in orthognathic surgery.
He takes on referrals for consultations and treatment of a wide range of surgical procedures including impacted wisdom teeth, apicectomies, maxillofacial procedures and management of TMD (temporo-mandibular disorders).
Dr Dominiki Chatzopoulou DipDS, MClinDent in Perio(Lond)
Periodontist, Clinical Lecturer in Periodontics
Dominiki qualified in 1998 in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, school of Dentistry with an outstanding student class rank and financial honours. She has been a highly trained Periodontist for the last 10 years. She was awarded a performance scholarship for her MClinDent degree sponsored by the State Scholarship Institute (IKY) in Periodontics at the Royal London Hospital, which she completed with distinction in 2001.
Following completion of her training in the department of Periodontology in Royal London Hospital of Queen Mary And Westfield College, she was offered a clinical academic lecturer appointment developing an academic carrier and special professional activities in Periodontics. Honorary clinical contract has been obtained with Bart’s and the London NHS Trust for the above post and she is holding a clinical academic grade of 12 in scale (highest clinical lecturer academic grade).
Concurrently she was holding different honorary clinical consultant contracts with Bart’s and The London NHS Trust which with along with other clinical contracts with the local Health Authorities, she was engaged in the management in difficult and complex periodontal problems including Surgical Periodontal Regeneration and Mucogingival Surgery.
In addition, she teaches, as a clinical lecturer in Periodontology, the senior postgraduate students and specialist registrars for two sessions per week having to give more than 20 clinical presentations in a year as a part of junior, senior staffs and consultant’s education programme including the periodontal surgical courses of the Section 63 Bart’s and The London.
During her treatment sessions she treats patients with all types of periodontitis, especially those requiring Periodontal Regeneration and Mucogingival Surgery, as she is clinical lead in mucogingival surgery in the department.
Her clinical time is divided between private periodontal practice in West London and the Royal London Hospital. She is involved in postgraduate and undergraduate education and in clinical training, having given lectures and supervising session solely engaged in dealing with Periodontal problems and Aesthetic dentistry.
She works in close contact with other specialists like oral medicine specialist, endodontist, prosthodontist for the treatment and management of difficult periodontal cases.
Her research activity is related to BMPs and growth factors with the following thesis title: Expression of a Novel BMP-responsive transcription factor in periodontal ligament cells.
She is associated to different clinical trials which are related to prognostic factors and aggressive periodontitis and in different thesis of the post graduate students during their supervision for the last 8 years. Tissue culture, molecular biology and PCR –ELISA techniques are the main research subjects the Periodontal department concentrates his research activity.
Along with her academic career and various national and international professional activities such as audits, appraisals, job planning her clinical time is engaged in the management and treatment of complex and advanced periodontal cases what are essential to high quality patient care.
Dr Zaki Kanaan BDS MSc DipDSed
Implantologist
Zaki has a reputation among the dental community for the reliability and elegance of his work. His has a special interest in Dental Implant Treatment, in which he has achieved a Masters Degree from the GKT Dental Institute in 2001.
He strongly believes in Continuing Professional Development and lectures on all aspects of cosmetic and implant dentistry and mentors colleagues on all aspects of implant treatment. He sits on the Board of Directors of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, as Scientific Director. He is also an editorial consultant for The International Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry and Dental Implant Summaries, both widely distributed international dental journals. He is member of the Association of Dental Implantology and a mentor for Nobel Biocare Implants.
Zaki qualified from Guy’s Hospital, London, in 1996. He has embarked upon a career pathway leading to him gaining a Diploma in Sedation, and a Diploma in Hypnosis, allowing him to treat clients as comfortably and as possible.
Dr Michael Goldsmith

Endodontist
Mike graduated as a dentist in 1989 and after a number of years in General Dental Practice developed a particular interest in Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment).
He undertook postgraduate training in this field at the Eastman Dental Institute from 1996-1998 and is a registered Specialist on the General Dental Council's Specialist List.
Mike has limited his practice to root canal treatments since, undertaking treatments referred from general dentists and other Specialists.
He has assisted with postgraduate teaching of Endodontics to fellow dentists, with both lectures and hands-on courses.
